In general, you can use some free 3rd - party tools to capture maps:

You can also use OCAP (http://www.turboirc.com/forum/index.php?topic=302.0) to capture maps from http://www.openstreetmap.org/ .


As you have seen, I have removed any explicit reference/image to Google maps from this forum. The reason is not that Google asked me to do so, but instead I asked Google for permission in order to use their maps officially in Turbo GPS .

Google kindly responded very fast. They said that they wouldn't have problem to allow me to use them officially, but unfortunately they do not own the copyright of their maps, as they are just partners to 3rd party associations that have actually created the maps, and they have permission to display them using google maps.

Until I contact these companies, I 've created an Unofficial map grabber which I might share with you if the following conditions are met:
The entire activity will be logged by IP and ISP . Should any of the terms of usage be violated, you will banned instantly from access of the map grabber tool.
You will use the grabbed maps only for personal use
You agree with Google's Terms of Service
You will remain a member of this forum
You understand that the priviledge is temporary; I will be removing members from time to time to get space for new members.

You understand that is my right to terminate the service for any reason or for no reason at all at any time with or without warning
As you understand, I can't release such an application to the public. Therefore, I 've decided to give that tool only on request and only to people that will read this forum (and not the huge amount of TGPS downloaders) and this tool will be available for a limited amount of time.
