Chat mit Bryan Roth von Groundspeak am 21.11.

SKAMS

Geocacher
Hallo Forum,
ich hoffe diese Ankündigung passt hier rein. Sonst verschiebt mich bitte.

Es grüßt das SKAMS

Thank you SKAMS for bringing this to the attention of this forum users.

Again, people, if you would like to chat with the co-owner of Groundspeak, please attend the chat session. Also if you don't have any question, it is still fun to attend.

One of it's goals of Globalcaching.eu is to bring the geocachers closer to Groundspeak. Therefore we asked Bryan Roth years ago if he would like to hold a chat session. He was happy to do this and we already had a couple of succesful chat sessions with Bryan Roth.
Now you have the chance to get in contact with the co-owner.

Hopefully we see you on November the 21st at 20:00 (Amsterdam time).
Note that you have to register (free) first and that you need java runtime. It is adviced to check the chat before the chat session itself.
After registration, you have the option to change the forum language to German.

- Robert

Wichtig:

OK, it is now clear enough how you, even the site admin, think about the oppertunity to talk to Bryan Roth.
This kind of synical remarks is something I didn't expect and certainly not appreciate. Especially not from the site admin himself.

My personal point of view may and will differ from the other members in geoclub. Did there was any positive response form germany?
Because you asked: If I want to know something from Brian I'd write hin an email. But I don't know why I should do this. I have no clue why I should attend a chat of a dude from netherlands with a lackey from GC.

You can have your opinion about this. No problem. The problem I have is the way you express it. But hey, your site, your party. If you like this kind of negativity on your forum then so be it.
We have had several chat sessions with Bryan Roth and they were all very pleasant and positive. That is also the reason why we do this more often. Yes, you can write hem an email, but talking to him and asking question in a group chat is a whole other experience. And not everybody is able to write English (and we transate on the run).

Again, no problem if you don't see any reason to attend. But why responding in a synical manner? I would say, don't respond at all like other members of this forum did. I have all respect for those who didn't respond, but no respect for this kind of remarks. We do our utterlt best to facilitate geocachers and this is one of them. Some are picked up and some don't. But at least we try to organize something, We try to do something positive.

By the way, Bryan Roth is not just a lackey, but co-founder of Groundspeak.

I won't bother you in the future with other activities we organize.

Edit:
OMG, 'of a dude from the Netherlands'. Yes, I am from the Netherlands, yes, I am European, so? I thought geocaching wasn't about borders?
I am a webmaster just like you. But I wouldn't say: 'of a dude from germany'. But then again, your way of expressing yourself. Like I said, we try to make something of geocaching and try to do what ever is in our power to work with other organisations and so on. Running just a forum or website is very easy. But at least we try to do more than just that!

You're welcome to do so. Being the admin here does not mean my voice is more important than others. Don't you have any self-confidence? There is one dude from germany who states that he is not interested so much. I'm sure there many other looking forward to the chat. The geoclub is a good place to find them.
Feel free even to post a link to the chat log after the chat and for the old interesting ones, I'd like to have a look on them now.
