Hi,
Welcome to the mad, mad, mad world of geocaching!
You've found your first cache, congratulations (but beware rumour has it that
if your find count gets as far as ten you are hooked for life!!)
I am sure you will soon want to place a cache or two. Great! But first may
we suggest that you find a few so you know what makes a good cache (and a
not so good cache!)
Then place your first cache......
The cache will be reviewed for publication by the UK reviewer, Lactodorum
([email protected])
Before it is published the information on the cache page, the location of
the cache and the proximity of the cache to others will be checked against
gc.com guidelines (http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx) .
In UK we like to think that cachers will also uphold the UK guidelines
(http://www.gagb.org.uk/guidelines/guidelines.php). Many of these are very
similar in nature to the gc.com guidelines, however we would like to draw
your attention to the following, nos: 1, 3, 8, 9, 14 and 15. The reviewers
hope that you will note these and try to follow them when placing your caches.
Other helpful links are:

searchable stats database...
..and, finally, don't forget to visit the UK Forum!

for news, information, debate and scurrilous innuendo. ;-)
If you have anything you would like to ask us please get in touch.
Many Thanks and Cache Well,
Lactodorum
p.s. this message is automatically sent to cachers when they find their first
UK cache. If you are an experienced cacher who's just visiting the UK, or
if we've just got it wrong (eg you logged a mobile cache which has just
moved into the UK), then please accept our apologies for troubling you!
